Historical Event on 4/6/1930
Mahatma Gandhi picked up a lump of natural salt for breaking the 'Salt Law'. He was arrested at Dandi. This movement gathered strength and within a month about one lakh people were sent to jail. This violation of Salt Law was the second great step in India's Freedom Movement.

7/3/1898	Gopinath Bhagwan was born at Banamohalla, Srinagar. He is one of the most eminent saints who have graced the sacred land of India. An Ashram at Kharyar, Srinagar is set up by his disciples and devotees to preach his meditation.
9/27/2000	Gurucharan Singh goes down fighting to Andri Fedtchouk of Ukraine in the 81 Kg bout of the Olympics boxing.
6/18/1988	V.P.Singh defeats Congress rival Sunil Shastri in Allahabad Lok Sabha election.
4/26/1999	India's Atanu Lahiri and Bhagyashree Thipsay won the men's and women's titles respectively in the Commonwealth chess championship in Bikaner.
