Historical Event on 4/1/1985
Central Institute of Brackishwater Aquaculture was established during the 7th Plan period. The Institute started functioning independently since April 1987. The Headquarters of the Institute are located in Chennai with field and farm facilities at Muttukadu and three Research Centres at Kakdwip(West Bengal), Puri(Orissa) and Narakkal (Kerala).

2/16/1942	The third IAF unit to operate the Lysander was No.4 Squadron, formed with four aircraft on 16 February 1942. This squadron was to continue to operate the Westland aircraft until it too was re-equipped with the Hurricane in June 1943.

1/23/1977	Janata Party was formed. Congress Sangathan, Jansangh, Bhartiya Lokdal and Samajwadi Party decided to merge and create Janata Party.
11/12/1781	Nagapatnam of South India was captured by the British troops.
