Lord Vishnu took the form of ten Avatars known as the Puranas: Matsya, Kurma, Varaha, Narasimha, Vamana, Parashurama, Rama, Krishna, Buddha, and Kalki. Nine avatars have appeared in the universe except for Kalki.
