Historical Event on 9/10/1996
Central Ethical Committee of ICMR on Human Research, constituted under the Chairmanship of Justice (Retired) M.N. Venkatachaliah, held its first meeting. Several sub committees were constituted to address specific topics viz. Epidemiological Research, Clinical Evaluation of Products to be Used on Humans, Organ Transplantation; Human Genetics, etc.

1/9/1922	Har Gobind Khurana, scientist of Biology, was born in India. He did his M.Sc from University of Punjab and, for higher education went to University of Liverpool. In 1959, he produced a chemical called ""Coenzymea"", which is essential for certain processes in the human body. He was awarded Nobel Prize for medicine in 1968 along with Marshall W. Nirenberg and Robert W. Halley.
7/26/1933	Gandhiji went back to Sabarmati Ashram after his release from jail.
12/26/1921	Nurul. S. Hasan, educationist and statesman, was born at Lucknow (U.P).
5/13/1962	Dr. Rajendra Prasad (1884-1963) retired from the post of first President.

9/21/1857	Bahadurshah Jafar - II surrendered against the British troops.
10/31/1920	Inaugural session of the All India Trade Union Congress was conducted in Bombay.
